Questions we get most
How fast can you get an electrician out?
Call the Electrical Division at (805) 505-5566 and we respond within one business day. Urgent problems get priority on the schedule, and we diagnose what we can over the phone so the truck arrives with the right parts.
How does pricing work?
Service calls carry a flat diagnostic fee, quoted when you book, so there is no meter running while we find the problem. Once we know what it takes, you approve the price before any work starts.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Original Energy Co holds California C-10 electrical contractor license #820285 and is licensed, bonded and insured. Certificates of general liability and workers' compensation insurance are available on request.
Do I need a panel upgrade before adding an EV charger or heat pump?
Not always. We assess your existing service capacity first. Many properties can add a Level 2 charger with load management instead of a full 200A upgrade, which saves both time and cost.
What areas do you serve?
San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County, from Paso Robles to Santa Ynez. See the full list below.
How do I know if my electrical panel needs replacing?
Common signs are breakers that trip repeatedly, a panel that feels warm or smells hot, scorch marks, fuses instead of breakers, no room left for new circuits, or a Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel. Any of those is worth an inspection before you add load.
Which EV chargers do you install?
Any UL-listed Level 2 charger, hardwired or plug-in. We'll recommend a model based on your vehicle, your panel capacity and where the car parks, and we install multi-unit and commercial EVSE with load management.
Do you handle solar and battery work too?
Yes, through our Renewable Division at (805) 505-5533. The same company installs and services solar, battery storage, and handles solar repairs on systems other contractors left behind.
